Custom designed items, perfect for the user, have been a luxury for as long as people have made items. For some people this is the epitome of art, marrying form and function. A beautiful table that can sit in a dining room to be used every day. For others this is just the best in extravagant luxury, having a suit made so that it will fit your body like a glove. I suppose this is why phrases like “Where form meets function” and ” Designed with you in mind ” have become so popular once again. It brings to mind many things, but one of them is this luxury. In an age where everything seems to become the same, and it is hard to find originality any more, it is important to be able to distinguish yourself.

This has become no more true than in the world of loans. It is not to say that there are not a world of different loans, but rather that to someone who has little to no experience with loans they all sort of look the same. In line with being ethical however if you are going to use a catch phrase like that you should have the services to back it up. If you look over the large numbers of places willing to offer you a loan online you get this feeling as though they are all the same, and yet there is one company that says their loans are designed with you in mind. What could this mean?

What Money Mutual does is offers a service in which after taking in your information, they find the right lender who will have a custom fit loan made to fit you in every way. They take into account your history, your regular paycheck and a number of other items. How they get any information you don’t give them is outlined in their privacy policy so that there are no surprises. They also take pride in themselves in having great customer service in case you need to talk to someone before you are willing to take out a loan. I will admit, I’m a little impressed that it seems this really is a loan designed with you in mind and something about that is a little luxurious.

There is this spectacular person I met through the bus driver who navigates me and ten other people 40th Street and Harlan Avenue on Mondays through Fridays at six o’clock. Of course, the bus driver didn’t introduce me to this person. It was his cousin who works in a firm that does collections who had orange hair from a bad dye job and a permanent smile with bubblegum in her teeth. But she was not the person who knew this person that I am writing about. The person who knew the spectacular person was her neighbor who had an opal pendant in the shape of an anatomical heart and was part of the executive training branch of another company. The spectacular person was her friend, Anne Bobby.

It would seem to me that a spectacular person would not have such a plain name that really belongs on a street sign in a little town. I did not know she would be spectacular until I saw her desk at work where she does professional development. Anne Bobby told me I could meet her at her work for coffee at three o’clock, which was when she got off. I could wait in her office until then because she would be in a long, long, long meeting, but it would not last until three, she assured me. Naturally, I did some superficial snooping while awaiting her to come to the office. It was strange that she had none of the usual photos and desk knickknacks that most people had in their offices or cubicles.

Anne Bobby had a photo of a blue balloon in a blue sky bleached of most its color. She had a photo of footprints in cement that were in front of a sign that said no loitering. In a miniature gumball jar near her computer were not gumballs, but old stamps that been used. At the edge of her desk and in the center was not her name–her plain name was not anywhere in sight–but a silhouetted bust collaged in photos of Tom Waits and headlines about his tours. I already knew her before she came in the door right at three o’clock.

At its most basic form, excellent customer service is easy to recognize in restaurants. In this instance it is straightforward and always an essential aspect of what the restaurant offers. However, the restaurants the offer the best customer service often take it to levels that customer is unaware. This can be taken to the extreme of restaurant design and menu planning. This can lead to aspects of available financial resources as well as location and various other elements. However, for the financially limited private restaurant owner, the actual business practice can go further than the most expensive design of any restaurant. And this is the customer service elements that will be discussed here. As a businessman and consumer, Steven Barbarich is well aware of the essential importance of excellent customer service to any business.

For restaurants, on hands immediately oriented customer service begins as the diner walks through the door. They should be greeted by friendly and attentive hosting personnel and either taken directly to their table or informed of any amount of time the customer may be asked to wait. It should never be policy to estimate shorter time frames for fear the customer may not want to wait the actual length. Any customer will be much more irritated by waiting longer than they were told than by being told a closer estimate, even though it may have been longer. If anything, it is better to over estimate the expected wait time by five minutes, which will please the customer that they are called to their table early, and avoid making them wait excessively if the estimate was slightly off in the first place.

These early experiences a customer has in a restaurant will absolutely determine the direction the rest of their encounter will take, and it is extremely difficult to make up for an unpleasant beginning and to please an already irritated and impatient person. In addition, if they had a positive experience at the lobby, they are already well on their way to enjoying the rest of their evening. That is as long as the bus persons, the food servers, cooks and chefs and of course the bartenders also do their jobs efficiently.

Short term goals are the key to successful completion of the end goal. It is the goal that is accomplished each day which gets one closer to that end goal, and it is those small goals that must serve to keep one motivated with that initial burst of enthusiasm. When one begins a management training course, or any other study that requires time, one may question themselves, if that burst begins to wear off, as some of the goals seem so far away, so far into the future. But in making a plan and following it, one can keep that feeling, make sure that that goal is worth it.

A plan is what it takes to remain motivated. It is similar to create one’s own support system, and that is in the form for many people as a written list, and the keeping of a record of the progress and the individual successes. This will keep the focus, until finally those small goals simply become a habit, a change in the way we go about organizing our time and our energy. For some this is the recreation of different rituals, mantras, and plans.

The mantra may be the beginning step, it will serve to focus the mind and create one’s own enthusiasm. Changing ritual habits are important for those with aspirations to loose weight to those making the transition from working in the office to setting up a home base. Changing one’s habits may be the first step in organizing and planning to attain those long term goals.

There is a reason breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It helps keep you focused for the 8 am leadership development course and keeps you from wanting to eat the entire contents of the office fridge at 10:30. Studies have also show that it can help reduce stress throughout the day.

Breakfast is a key component to managing daily stress. If you are under-nourished for the day your concentration can suffer and so can your health. Because you skipped breakfast, you will be so hungry by the time you eat lunch that you might end up bingeing on high fat foods. So maybe you didn’t need that burrito from Chipotle but you were so ravenous you ate the entire thing. Also, people who eat breakfast regularly tend to have fewer problems with their weight and less stress overall. Eating breakfast makes it easier to participate in daily tasks, such as that management development seminar at work.

Eating breakfast has been shown to be especially important to teens. Skipping breakfast led to lower test scores on English and math tests and a lower attendance rate. Difficultly with problem solving skills and it resulted in being ranked lower in class rankings. That is why it is important to have your children on a breakfast regiment from a young age. It will help them stay focused and perform better on standardized tests and in their daily school work.

It’s just as important for adults who have children to eat their breakfast as well. Parents need to lead by example, and them just having a cup of coffee in the morning is not doing anything for their children or their own health.

Also make sure the breakfast is balanced, you don’t want to be eating a fast food breakfast every morning. Try to take time to sit down and have a bowl of cereal. Your health will benefit and so will your stress levels.

My friend Mary and I walked into the local Barnes and Nobles to find a copy of the Lonely Planet Istanbul book. I asked a salesperson where the travel books were. She responded, “They are upstairs near the café.” She was very specific and very helpful. As I started to go up the escalator, she asked “What are you looking for?” When I told her, she made a face that said, “Doesn’t look good.” When she checked the computer, she discovered she was correct; they didn’t have it in the store. She told me what other locations would be likely to have a copy and she offered to order me a copy.

So, all in all, she provided me really good customer service. She saved me a trip upstairs; she told me where I could purchase it. She was friendly and helpful.

How could this GOOD customer service have cost her a sale?

I left feeling unsatisfied and I wasn’t sure why. I received good service. Everything went easily, even if I wasn’t able to leave with my book. It was the discussion with Mary when we were walking out that clarified my discomfort and dissatisfaction. Mary noted that although the salesperson was very helpful, one step was missing. She didn’t ask me any questions about my need. She was in essence, an order taker. I asked for a book, she looked for the book and told me where I could get the book.

But if she had engaged me in conversation she might have been able to still sell me a book that met my needs. Here is how the conversation might have gone. more……
