The Model Lipstiques Model Singapore Angst

There is a traveler’s paradise in Singapore.  It’s not one of those places that has a little bit of everything, because what they do have here is a lot, and they do it with style and energy.  It has an infectious rhythm that will keep you coming back.  Singapore seems to have a sense for trends and new world developments before most other places do, and it is a fantastic place to spend lazy afternoons shopping and people watching.  This isn’t just because it’s a great activity for its own sake, but because it’s a great way to find out what’s the latest and greatest in international fashion and culture.  It’s also a splendid place to see new works of art, because the local art scene is fabulous, and internationally, it is recognized as one of the premiere places to have your work show.  There are also exceptional five-star hotels.  Singapore knows the art of hospitality.

You’ll be delighted at the fantastic array of amenities our rooms offer, and after a lovely night’s sleep and a gorgeous meal prepared by master chefs, you’ll want to check out some of the local attractions, and find your own Singapore adventures.  There are plenty of attractions during the day, and the night life is pretty stunning.  There are always a number of excellent choices for music acts that come through Singapore, and top names in the region and the world make it a regular stopping place for world tours.  Locally, there are all kinds of music for every taste, and if you’re looking for some retro-themed music that speaks to a peculiarly Singapore sensibility, keep an eye out for the Model Lipstiques.

They play a kind of surf punk that’s based in a school of rock and roll that may have existed in the early sixties, but more likely never was.  The quotation is so good, in fact, that it may take awhile to hear the innovation in the sound, where they seem to be creating something very new, and very exciting, in the heart of Singapore.  Avenging Cleopatra Wong might be one of their best songs, but there’s a sense that there’s more to come with this strangely ironic and contagious duo.  The songs are certainly reminiscent of beach tunes, but there’s also a whole lot of post-punk in here, too, with a few spectacular twists of goth, murmuring from beneath a wall of sound that’s refreshingly angsty, and speaks of heartfelt truths that lie at the center of the joke.
